A Message from Mrs. Edwards:
It is truly a blessing and a privilege to serve as the principal of Union Elementary School. One of the things I love most about Union is the strong sense of community that comes with being part of a close-knit, rural school. Our families genuinely support our school, our teachers are dedicated professionals who work tirelessly for students, and our children represent some of the very best of Cleveland County.

At Union, we strive to keep students at the heart of every decision we make. Our responsibility extends beyond helping children succeed academically. We want to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students develop the knowledge, character, confidence, and skills they need to become successful and productive members of their communities. I am incredibly proud to work alongside educators and families who share that commitment.

I have been fortunate to serve in education for 24 years, including 20 years with Cleveland County Schools and the past 12 years as a school administrator. Throughout those years, I have continued to believe that strong schools are built through high expectations, meaningful relationships, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for children.

Outside of school, family is at the center of my life as well. My husband, David, and I have been married for 25 years, and we are the proud parents of two daughters, ages 19 and 15. One is a graduate of Cleveland County Schools, and our youngest is currently a CCS student. As both an educator and a parent, I understand the trust families place in us each day when they send their children through our doors.

I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the Union Elementary family and look forward to continuing to work alongside our students, staff, families, and community as we make every moment count for our children.
